Interview purpose
A journalist have to be sure of the reason behind the interview they are conducting in order to know how and when to present the questions to the interviewee.

Interpretive
An interpretive interview is an interview whereby opinions are gathered from an interviewee who is not an expert on the issue or topic. The video below is a Vox pop finding out how the UK really feel about Brexit. The respondents are not experts on the issue but they gave their opinion out on what they think or know about the England leaving the European Union. The questions were based on what they voted on and why. We found out the different reasons why majority of the voters wants England out of the EU. We found out some people voted out because they wanted other countries to stop dictating what the UK does with it's money while another think we should be focused on taking care of ourselves rather than people outside the country. Another man revealed he believes Cameron could have done more campaign to encourage more people to vote to remain in the EU. None of these are facts neither are they experts on the issue, rather they are opinions from a different point of view making the interview interpretive.
Research
This type of interview is conducted with an expert to get an insight into the interviewee's knowledge on a particular topic or issue. Below is a video of an interview with Daniel Doherty who is a veterinary surgeon. He is being interviewed concerning his 24/7 practice and his specialism in the treatment of greyhounds. This interview falls under the research category because Doherty is an expert and he is talking about his specialty in this interview.
Understanding
This interview purpose focuses on creating a better understanding concerning an issue or topic. The interview in the video below is that of a transgender woman. The woman talks about her transition and how hard it was for her to admit her feminine side as a male. This interview creates an understanding of what a transgender women might go through during and after their transition.
Inform
This interview format is meant to share information to the public about a particular event. It is used to reveal the time, date, venue and who's going to be there to the public. An example of this is this interview of Elvis Duran with Kesha announcing the lines up of 2017 iHeart Radio Music Festival. They revealed the artists that will be preforming in this festival, Kesha featuring in this announcement means more people will tune in to listen as she had so many attention on her at the time. This way can get more people to know about this festival.
Emotional
This type of interview is meant to make the audience feel empathy, the purpose is to make the audience to view a story from another person's perspective. The interview below shows a woman who had butt injections from a nonprofessional and ended up losing her limbs. This emotional interview shows the woman explaining how she chose the woman to inject her after seeing one her patients with the kind of butt she had always wanted. The interviewer asked her what was injected in her and she answered silicone from hardware. She revealed she did not want to go on with the session after the first one that got her curious as to what was being injected in her. We couldn't but sympathize with this victim of plastic surgery fail as she narrated her story.

Good work Precious. You explain the interview techniques being used and refer to well thought out and relevant examples. You start to draw these examples out , for instance in 'emotional' and 'interpretive'. I would now like to see this level of explanation being developed and applied to all points on the blog. Try using quotes and telling us the specifics of the interviewe which show your points to help you do this.
